Hello and welcome to The Pictou Puffin Bed and Breakfast. We hope that you enjoy your stay with us, just as much as we enjoy having you here.

Our Story

Alex and I (Lorie) met in 20016 and over the years we developed our relationship and knew that we wanted to do something different with our lives. Alex was an Electrician and Personal Trainer and I was a Resource Manager working for large companies. Over the past couple of years the idea of owning a Bed and Breakfast became the only thing that we could think about, so we put plans in motion in order to attain our dream. We started bloggin our Journey and our goals started taking shape.

Born and raised in Ontario, we do Come From Away, as we are aptly named here in the beautiful seaside town of Pictou. Why Pictou, Nova Scotia you ask? Well Nova Scotia is our Ocean Playground and why not live by the ocean if you can. Leaving Canada wasn’t an option, as this will always be my home. Nova Scotia is gorgeous, once you see it you will fall in love with it also. As for the Town of Pictou, it is the most beautiful little town that I’ve ever seen. It is beside the ocean and the people here are ever so friendly. This is the right place to own a B&B and retire some day.

We have enjoyed the past few months, getting our Victorian home ready to receive guests again. Alex and I have successfully brought together the old and the new into our home and we hope that you enjoy it as much as we do. We live on the premises with our two boys, Syndres and Pumkyn and we adopted (or she adopted us) Snowball into our lives 2 days after we moved here. We do try to keep our kittens out of the bedrooms but we can’t guarantee that they haven’t or won’t sneak in on you. They will welcome you also 🙂

Oh and well we went and did it, we got another little mouth to feed in the homestead. Yes like it wasn’t enough to open a B&B and take care of our two kitties, then we adopt Snowball who really did need us but then we found her. The cutest little girl ever (IMO). We’ve aptly named her Puffin. She came to us at 7 weeks old and is so much fun and SOOOO much work, but we love her just the same.
