The Brier Island room is also known as our honeymoon suite and is named after the lighthouse on Brier’s Island. This room is located at the front of the house on the second floor with a view of the Pictou Harbour. In the summer you can be sure to catch a baseball game or two from across the street and during Lobster Carnival you’ll have front row seats to all the excitement.
The room contains a luxurious Kingsdown pillow top mattress, covered with 350 thread count, 100% organic Egyptian cotton sheets which are Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified.
Our platform pine beds were designed and built by Alex using wood from our local building supply store in Lyons Brook called Hector Building Supplies.
The room furnishings, wing back chairs, dresser and side tables, were purchased via Auctions and Nova Scotians in the past few months. What we wanted to accomplish was a mixture of old (antique furnishings) and new (beds, bedding, towels), a place where the past meets the present. We have accomplished this not only in our rooms but in the house itself.
This room also contains an antique Pineapple Mahogany four poster single bed which can be used for an additional guest or for those couples travelling with a child.
Room also contains free WiFi, an radio/alarm clock and a 39″ TV with access to NetFlix, internet radio and YouTube.
Hot made to order breakfast is included.
Free Coffee and tea in Common Area of second floor, available nightly.
Access to shared refrigerator and water cooler in Common Area of second floor.
